I bought this kit back in February of 2022. It's now May 24 and I'm just getting started on it. I had another job to complete first. I was surprised to find this kit at my local hobby shop. Surprised because it has the trailer included. All for $20. If you've built semi kits before, you know that it's not common to find kits with the trailers. In many cases, the trailer has to be bought separately and this costs double. This kit is 1/48th scale and is manufactured by a fairly new company named Atlantis. The Atlantis Toy & Hobby Company is located in Deer Park, New York. While most model companies are now overseas, here's one based right here in America. So I am hoping you'll give them a try and buy their kits to check them out. I plan to get more if this one turns out well and that what this blog is all about. This is my first Atlantis kit and we're going to be reviewing it right here through the building process.

One thing I don't understand. This kit comes with no glass parts. So windows I have to make. On the website the glass for this kit is listed for around $7 to $8. I have never before bought a kit without the clear glass parts and I have been building models since 1957. I understand that the kit NOW comes with the glass. But my kit has none. Lucky for me, I have clear plastic sheets that I can cut to fit. So, let's get started.

1/48 Scale. This kit was originally released in 1956. Features detachable trailer, tilting front cab with detailed engine and interior, detailed chassis, opening gas compartment doors on trailer and 2 figures with sign. Comes with Markings for Sinclair and US Army gasoline tanker. Clear parts are now included for the windows. Features 61 parts Molded in green and clear. Measures 10.25 inches long. Skill level 2.
